We would like to congratulate accounting student Tatiana Vargas-Caba for receiving a Summer 2022 Start Internship from PwC, one of the Big Four accounting firms. Tatiana is currently a sophomore, and anticipates graduating in 2024.

Tatiana graduated from City College with a B.A. in English Literature. She was inspired to pursue a degree in accounting following her experience working in the retail industry. She joined Hunter in the Fall of 2020, and has since gotten involved with the Department of Economics & Accounting and Hunter’s community in her roles as a tutor for accounting students and as a writing tutor for the Rockowitz Writing Center.

Tatiana has held positions in other programs and organizations that have contributed to her robust academic progress; in the spring of 2021, she served as an Intake Coordinator for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA); and in the summer of 2021, she graduated in the Gateway to Professional Accounting Success (GPAS) program. She has also been actively involved with the Accounting Society as an External Committee Member.

Tatiana’s commitment to cultivating technical and analytical accounting skills early into her career, as well as helping other students advance in the field, has been a valuable addition to the Department of Economics & Accounting, and we hope her story can inspire other students to pursue accounting.
