The Department of Economics at Hunter College is home to faculty and programs in Economics and Accounting.

The department offers three degrees in economics: the B.A., the M.A., and the B.A./M.A., an accelerated undergraduate-graduate program. Coursework for the economics degrees provides a strong foundation in economic theory and empirical economics. Graduates of the department’s B.A./M.A. and M.A. programs are well-prepared to pursue a Ph.D. in economics or employment in business or government.

The department also offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in accounting. Coursework for the accounting degrees provides all the courses a student needs to sit for the Uniform CPA Examinations.
