Before joining the Economics Department in the fall of 2006, Professor Hansen taught at Penn State University and at Baruch College. He also worked at Ziff Brothers Investments, a multibillion dollar hedge fund.
Professor Hansen’s research examines how stock market participants (investors, analysts, etc.) use accounting information and focuses especially on the area of earnings manipulation.
