Prof. Goodspeed publishes paper on bank regulations and taxes

The taxation and regulation of banks have been increasingly in the public eye since the 2008 financial crisis. Professor Goodspeed’s new paper, “The Incidence of Bank Regulations and Taxes on Wages: Evidence from US States,” which is forthcoming in Taxation and Regulation of the Financial Sector, edited by Ruud De Mooij and Gaetan Nicodeme and published by The MIT Press, uses data on the financial sector in US States to examine whether there is an earnings premium in the financial sector and whether corporate taxes and regulation of the banking sector have an impact on wages in that sector.
